Breckenridge Ski Area

Breckenridge Ski Area is over 3,000 acres and the size can be intimidating for first-time skiers here. Don’t worry, it’s easy. The ski area is basically 5 peaks aligned from North to South, Peak 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. The highest peak is Peak 8, the namesake of the loft. On the map, Peak 10 on the left is the furthest south in the ski area, and peak 6 is on the right (north). There are three base areas: Peak 7, 8 and 9.

The easiest way to access Breckenridge skiing is to walk across the street to the Gondola, from the front door turn left 100 feet to Watson Ave, cross at the crosswalk and go 300 feet to the right (West) to the Gondola! It’s open from 8am to 5pm and it’s free-even for non-skiers (and a fun ride.) The first stop is a residential area, Shock Hill-don’t get off there. The second stop is Peak 7 access, you can get off here if you like, but we recommend taking it to the third and final stop-Peak 8 base area where you can access the whole mountain. There are also shops, cafe’s and bars here. You return the same way you came! Have fun.
