Restaurants
Breakfast
Daylight Donuts. Across the street, don’t let the name fool you, they’re more than donuts. Great breakfast, and open early. This and Starbucks are the only places open at 6 am that I know of. $$ 1 minute walk
Clint’s Coffeehouse. Kevin’s favorite. Great bakery and coffee shop on Main St in the center of town. There’s a part inside past the bakery and coffee counter down a half flight of stairs with made to order food. Great coffee and baked goods as well as bagels, breakfast and lunch downstairs. $$ 7 minute walk
Simplice Cafe. Across the street, walk-up ordering at the window with limited outdoor seating. Coffee drinks, and snacky food. You can get bagels here. 2 minute walk
La Francaise French Bakery. French cafe’ & bakery at the other end of Main St. but worth the walk. Opens at 8am and get here early before the good stuff sells out. Fresh pastries and breads along with coffees and entrees. $$ 11 minute walk
Lunch/Dinner
Blue River Bistro. Right across the street, great for snacks, drinks, happy hour, lunch or dinner. $$$ 1 minute walk
Rootstalk. Also just across the street. “Elevated everyday dining.” Very nice restaurant, comfortable but upscale food and pricing. The chef is a 2024 James Beard award winner. Great menu and a 7 course chef’s dinner with wine pairings. If you do the chef’s dinner come hungry and bring money. $$$$ 2 minute walk
The Carlin. Same side of the street, to the south (left). Good happy hour and seafood. Fun place. $$$ 2 minute walk
Aurum. Holly’s Favorite. 209 S Ridge St. Great food and atmosphere. Sister restaurant to the Carlin. $$$ 8 minute walk
Legends Steakhouse. 215 S Ridge St next to Aurum. Great steakhouse, fun atmosphere. $$$$ 8 minute walk
Drinks
Tavern Underground. Basement under the Carlin, similar menu, good appetizers and drinks. Cool atmosphere, fun place. $$$ 2 minute walk
Napper Tandy’s. Fun bar, bar food and live music. $$ 5 minute walk
Shifty Lifty. Right across the street, halfway between the front door and the gondola. Good sandwiches & a bar. $$ 1 minute walk
Rocky Mountain Underground (RMU). This place has it all from mountain bikes, skis, gear, apparel, to bar food and a great bar scene. I stuck it under bar, but it checks all the boxes. $$ 6 minute walk
Family friendly
Downstairs at Eric’s. Fun, family-friendly sports bar and arcade. Great place to watch the games and have a burger or slice with your beer. Right on Main St, center of town. Look for the big awning. $$ 7 minute walk
Tin Plate Pizza. Just a couple blocks south on Main St, and a couple blocks east to Ridge St, this is a great local pizza spot. Right next door is Fatty’s Pizza on one side and Three Daughters Pizza on the other (outside seating only here). $$ 5 minute walk
Skiing
Breckenridge Ski Area (Epic Pass). Breck’s the one and the gondola to the base of Peak 8 is just a short walk across the street (Right behind Blue River Bistro). 3 minute walk
Keystone Ski Area (Epic Pass). Another great local option. Head north out of town to Swan Mountain Rd, and turn right across Swan Mountain, and turn right on Hwy 6 to Keystone. 15 minute drive
Arapahoe Basin (Ikon Pass). A-Basin, as the locals call it, is one of the highest ski areas with much of it above treeline. That allows it to be among the first to open each year and last to close. You can often ski from Halloween through Father’s Day or beyond. 25 minute drive
Copper Mountain (Ikon Pass). Copper is a good choice just a bit further west on I-70. 15 minute drive
Vail (Epic Pass). World-famous Vail is about 30-40 minutes West of Breckenridge on I-70. 30 minute drive
Beaver Creek (Epic Pass). Just a few miles West of Vail at Avon/Edwards on I-70. 45 minute drive
